Fandom is a corrosive way to interact with art.

I like art of human characters engaging in the furry fandom like wearing fursuits and drawing furry art

"fandom wikibrain" means you hate art and want art to die forever and you would be more than happy with all art being replaced by ai slop forever
I think the Deltarune subreddit attempting to ban using she/her for Ralsei is the most definitive proof to date of her being transfem, speedrunning what we all experience

writers gifting fic to artists based on their drawings and artists gifting art based on fics is the purest form of fandom at its core.

Fandom needs interaction to thrive, if u want to keep enjoying art, fic, edits, animations, silly little hcs, and all of that gud stuff, give some of the love back that creators pour out for you, fandom shouldn't be /content/ to mindlessly consume, let it be a dialogue of love and appreciation 🙏✨❤️
I think a big fandom shift in interacting with stuff has gone from people commenting under the created thing whether it be fic or art to people linking it in private discord groups where the person who made it will never see any positive comments left on the thing they made.

Anyway listen fandom is a communal endeavour. if you enjoy a fic, leave a comment. If you enjoy art, tell the artist. If you want to see more of a ship or fandom, support the people making art for it. Nothing feels worse than making art & words that seem to connect with nobody. It feels empty.

This fandom has a reputation for being "suspiciously wealthy" but the truth is most furries just love and value art and people so much that they want to use their money for art and supporting artists so they can make a living doing what they love. It's a cycle of genuine passion I think.
