If someone is using a pronoun “they/them” instead of she/her or he/him, should the verb “are” be used instead of “is” even if the subject is singular? :o

Okay, I know you don’t say “People’ll” as “people will”. Do you not say “it’ll” as “it will”?

In the answer section, “it” is always written as “it will” while other subjects like “she” is written “she will / she’ll” in the both of forms.

Like “I tried to warm him, but he wouldn’t listen to me” instead of “…, but he wouldn’t *have* listened to me” :o

Using an adjective word to describe a person as a noun sounds bad or rude…?

I was explaining about my friend, and I said “He is a gay” and I was told that that sounded bad but they couldn’t really explain why :o

Are “in ten years” and “in ten years’ time” the same meaning???! I’ve seen “in ten years” but haven’t seen it the other :o

Additionally, why is a single quote in “in ten years’ time”…?

So if I say “She drowned in the river”, does this mean she died already?

In Japanese, we say 溺れる for drown but it doesn’t imply that the person dies… :o
