You order net zero UF for CRRT.

One assessment in the morning.

ICU team orders a NS bolus to help with the BP.

Nurse pulls it out the next hour.

#AskRenal what do you do to avoid this? I’m trying to figure out a practical solution.

Excellent work modelling effect of ER visit in patients with out-patient hyperkalemia

K>6.2 carries 1.6% risk of death in next 7 days

Decreased by ER visit within 1, 3, 7 days, & the sooner the better

Effects greatest for K>6.6 and GFR<30

Decent (albeit almost all observational) data suggest that response to terlipressin is crap in HRS-AKI in patients presenting with SCr >5 mg/dL. Does that apply to norepi as well???

What’s your treatment for idiopathic pericarditis in PD?
NSAIDs will cause loss of RRF and risk of UGIB. Colchicine at even low doses=diarrhea (and myopathy/cytopenias). Prednisone or try colchicine 0.3-0.6mg po daily to see if tolerated? Defer to cardiology? @askrenal.bsky.social #askrenal

Since atrasentan is bound to be approved for use in IgAN, does anyone know whether it will be revived for DKD?
SONAR did in fact show that it was effective, but the premature termination and upstaging by CREDENCE sort of left atrasentan for dead…

#askrenal Just been told that enalapril 10 mg is max dose for HTN, but label says up to 40 mg per day.
Anyone know the RCT data on enalapril in HTN?

I have a 72 year old on Automated PD since 2022 who initially defaulted PD for months and once recommenced on PD developed vomiting while on PD. Non compliant to follow-up and his last PET test in early 2023 showed a HA transporter.

Quick question - if I want to give Cefoperazone-Sulbactam for IP antibiotics for Automated PD with 10L exchanges can I use the Cefoperazone data in ISPD guidelines ie 500mg/L loading with 125mg/L for maintainence or is that overkill? #AskRenal
