I had (pre-vax) COVID and it took me from ready to certify as a high-intensity fitness instructor to essentially disabled. I'd regularly set off my heart rate alarm ASLEEP. Almost 4 years later, I'm still on Atenolol to keep it under 100 beats a minute resting, AND I have a new autoimmune disease. 😑

Oh, the follow-on is that there are beta-blockers that are non-fat soluble *may* show less of this response (YMMV etc etc because... bodies)
Non-fat soluble: Atenolol, celiprolol, nadolol, solatol (cleared by kidney)
Fat-soluble: Metoprolol, propanolol, pindolol, labetalol (cleared by liver)
Non-fat soluble: Atenolol, celiprolol, nadolol, solatol (cleared by kidney)

I'm a butcher! LOL I've been surprised over the years by some "official" pronunciations. Like carvedilol is carVEHdilol which makes sense when you compare it to, aTENolol, proPRANolol etc but I never heard anyone say it that way. And I pronounced semaglutide as semaGLUtide when it's seMAGlutide
