Given that BOP, ATF, and DEA agents worked alongside ICE and CBP to brutalize people, I am fascinated by the tone of this filing.

This definitely surprises me, even with all the caveats about the operation's scope and limits. Hard to see why the ATF should have any role in our elections at all.

I made the mistake of watching a video earlier that included the ATF recording of the last minutes of this tragedy, and this is a fucking gross example of how the media revels in blood and gore.

And piss off the DHS and ATF agents that’ll be watching every major voting location in the country tomorrow. They got ICE and the FBI to not show up with guns but they got their friends to do it, too late to change. So annoy them, but please be careful. It always goes bad when the ATF is around.

I've never heard of ATF agents doing election monitoring. That's going to make some people very unhappy, I imagine.

The DOJ is sending 1,000 extra monitors to the midterms, including agents from the DEA, ATF and Bureau of Prisons. In Houston, an orange line is spray-painted 100 feet from a polling place’s doors. If the feds cross it? “That would be a problem, because that would be a direct violation of the law.”

DOJ says they will be in business casual dress and won't have visible ATF insignia on their clothes. They are supposed to have ID in case they're asked to identify themselves. They are just supposed to observe, but they can interview voters after they've voted. thereload.com/doj-says-atf...
