The way it should work is pretty simple. A trans athelete wants to join the team. They go to a doctor with a copy of the sport's rules that say they have to have had certain female and male hormone levels for a specified time period. The doctor says they meet criteria. They are allowed on the team.

your kid wont be a pro. i can say this nearly definitively as the amount who do is a tiny fraction of the population. Is your kid a genetic freak nearly perfectly tailored to your sport? on top of that do they have an obsessive personality around training? add in dumb luck, and thats a pro athelete
I think it was @pbump.com who pointed this out, but an absurd amount of adults believe their kid has a chance at pro sports. When you put that incentive there, it really adds a whole layer to the trans sports panic.
Outside the obvious timebomb of selling out trans kids to appeal to ~16 bigots in deep Ohio, an underplayed part of the whole "trans kids in youth sports" stuff is making the most psycho Little League parents the most important political demo in America. They're joy vampires for the kids themselves!
