New variant under monitoring BA.2.86 is now known to be in New Brunswick.

This variant raised eyebrows with its unusually high number of mutations but has so far not produced more severe infections. It is believed however to be more immune evasive.

Though studies continue to show that sex education is a key intervention to prevent childhood sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, and sexual violence, we are not convinced that level of safety is appropriate for our children.

It is important to acknowledge the burden of performing the work Public Health was created and exceptionally well paid to do. Since multiple successive alterations to definitions didn't make the work go away, it's time to simply and transparently abdicate all responsibility.
