I was about to report a STEVE sighting in Utah last night to Aurorasaurus, but it turned out to be an orbital maneuver burn from a Chinese rocket. Disappointing, but it was still a striking thing to witness. Thanks to @astrodave.bsky.social for helping to solve the mystery. More below

The proton aurora now clearly has red banding, confirming a "RAGDA" formation. This is a rarer type of subauroral phenomenon!

This all-sky camera is in Northern Minnesota.

For the most accurate information of where the aurora is currently visible, I recommend consulting aurora webcams and Aurorasaurus. These sites will tell you where and when Aurora is happening.
