If you want a cool "monster" for D&D?
Australovenator.
Its big enough to be a mount (for smaller races), but small enough to be a genuine threat (to larger races).
They are quick, the dinosaur stampede has them moving faster than running speed.
They attack by picking up their prey and pinning...

“Megaraptorans are lighter than we thought.”

Good to know we’re not outrunning an angry Maip or Australovenator even in a CAR

In late Cretaceous Australia, we have the deadly megaraptorian predator, the 20-foot-long, 7-foot-ton possibly weighing over a ton: Australovenator!

Fact Friday: the unseen apex predators of Proxy – the Arborvenators – are named in honour of my favourite dinosaur, Australovenator.

The reader on Discord who referred to them as “tree velociraptors” wasn’t too far off.

I decided to replace Chakisaurus with Manidens, and replace Isasicursor with Diluvicursor, to match up with Australovenator. They’d join together if at all.
Chaki & Isasi were part of the first roster, but solo from their formations.
Oh, and I redrew Australo to be more Bunyip.

Its not often i can narrow it down as quickly as this.
T. rex told me it was Cretaceous and Carnivorous and nothing else. Australovenator told me nothing beyond it wasn't Australian. Spinosaurus got me the clade and family and told me it wasn't Africa.

“It is 100 million years ago, parts of Australia are in the Antarctic Circle & dinosaurs roam a polar world. Swift, 5-metre-long predators like Australovenator hunted during months of darkness. Meanwhile, herds of Leaellynasaura fed among ferns covered in frost”

What Australia would have looked like when the dinosaurs roamed
Palaeontologists say evidence pointing to Australia's polar past shows that many dinosaurs roamed the country when the south east was still within the Antarctic Circle.

Cryolophosaurus, it's literally the *coolest* of them all.

But lately I've been getting into megaraptors like Maip and Australovenator, they're a really weird group that I wanna know more about
