ok five seconds into Touhou Koumakyou New Classic and there's already a pretty big gameplay change, in that you can autocollect items without being at full power??? that's kinda crazy I assumed it would play exactly the same

- clear indication of where spell cards start in the HP bar
- indicator of boss position on the bottom of the screen
those + the hitbox are all just visual information though, so I'm still surprised that the autocollect change is in

One of the funniest things about Mouse Mode Touhou is that you are able to keep autocollect-triggered items on screen indefinitely due to how fast you can move. Ultimately, this ability leads to sillies like this after beating Remilia. :)

it's good! new music arranges are awesome and I love how it looks
there's some minor tweaks based on later games too, like visible hitbox during focus, and being able to autocollect items without being at full power
plus it includes a perfect port of the original!

Can confirm; this is an excellent and faithful remaster of the original EoSD.
Love how some charm of the original visuals was kept; there are still repeating tiles for background textures, for example. Modern QoL with boss indicators, permanent autocollect line, and visible hitbox are all great.
