these people are grade A assholes but having a primary language and also discouraging autotranslation is a completely sane forum policy for lots of forums

these people are grade A assholes but having a primary language and also discouraging autotranslation is a completely sane forum policy for lots of forums
they don't want to be dismissed/ignored by people who won't do the translation themselves, especially on platforms where autotranslation is imperfect or missing (e.g. here)
there's also the other angle of wanting to fit in with the wider community and not stand out (as much)
