On the surface, Station to Station may seem like a messy affair : ballads, disco-funk, prog leanings and oblique avant-garde bits. But the small miracle is that somehow all the pieces of the puzzle fit. Girls I knew loved Wild Is the Wind. I preferred TVC15. An elegantly menacing near-masterpiece.
