I know some people in my life whose sexuality is ABCD (“Anyone but cis dudes”). Makes total sense to me.

If I wasn’t already in a long-term, monogamous relationship, I might say the same. Not totally averse to trans men or women. But I would never date a cis man again!!

Some are OK as mates.

you can argue he's kind of infantilizing or fetishistically detached but the worst thing i can think to say about the guy in what he expresses is that he's extremely averse to conflict and negative vibes and just likes it when people get along and like each other

...with the films central antagonists being sunlight averse mutated humans rather than vampires, and the whole 'Legend' twist being softened so that Will Smith's Robert Neville is not revealed to be a prolific and monstrous mass murderer in the eyes of his victims, who represent a new society.

I have that genetic aldehyde (and some keytone) sensitivity, which tends to make me very averse to tasting soap. Not all soaps have aldehydes in them, but it's very common. That's why they say people with aldehyde sensitivity think cilantro tastes like soap (though it's not exactly the same taste).

Upgrade includes a lot of features I'm unlikely to use (and I don't use a lot of the features offered in FH7). Definitely averse to AI features and online integration with external providers. Would be interested to learn what users think of FH8.

It's hard to know for sure what Capcom are actually saying because they contradict their own statement. Graphics and sounds would indicate asset generation, at least to me.

Dang, I'm sorry. I'm in a similar boat and it's not fun. Up to you to feel how you feel about it, but there are free pdf versions of it online. Just look up ____ + pdf and youll find it. It's totally understandable if youre averse to that though /genuine

Some ppl want to keep their identity + behaviors fixed through life (change-averse). Others want to adapt to new info + practice self improvement through regular self-examination. Both can be valid, but being change-averse has a greater disparity of outcome, i think

This empathy, suppressed in civilization, we call “our humanity,” in fact—which is to be averse to pain, suffering, & the domination & death of innocent others & to wish to prevent these in others out of a unity of feeling w the suffering other

in my experience buidling something my own it hasn’t been terribly difficult to add an llm judge on the tool usages. Claude Code auto mode essentially. Which I have been found to universally be more risk averse than me.

Could this blow up in my face? Sure.

I’m not completely flying averse but I love a road trip with multiple stops and I feel like the potential fall foliage along the way would go crazy

Uh...

-Enemy (2013), probably shouldn't watch if you're averse to spiders
-Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island, the only One Piece movie I watched
-Annihilation (2018)

They haven't been paying their bills for three months and they only just now finally started telling us they're having problems. Don't be in charge of things if you're too conflict-averse to take decisive action!

Google AI has become increasingly risk averse. The criticisms initially were that it gets things wrong and was giving dangerous advice (still true) but there are issues with being too risk averse. If you can’t actually eliminate all risks (particularly legal risks) without creating a risk elsewhere.

Feels like a natural progression of the infantilization of pop culture. Huge movies being so risk-averse they’re happy to telegram the ending ahead of time: “This is going EXACTLY where you think it is, don’t worry!”

It’s a bummer! Adaptation should be about creative interpretation/reinvention.
