6 yrs ago, the Australian National War Memorial was home to a v special wee family. A pair of pigeons used the artificial poppies to build a nest in the memorial, & hatched a chick there.

A couple of years ago I contacted @AWMemorial about adding one of the five Australians killed in the Great Escape in the Commemorative Roll. Earlier this week I 'visited' 25 year old Thomas Barker Leigh. His ‘cheerful, boyish face’ remained a sad memory for one friend.

Whilst working on the 2025 presentation, every step that @ubiquevir.bsky.social & the 12th Fld Coy RE took 82 years ago seems to feature in the daily news.

In Feb 1942, heavy snow stopped all defence works in Djedeide, Syria.
