My son says he wants to be a writer. To prepare him, I’ve made him redo his homework 9 times, then told him ‘I’m sorry but I can’t work out how to market this’ and thrown it out the window.

Another spec script deal announced today which brings the August total to 8. That is the highest number of monthly spec script deals since March 2017. It feels like there's something going on in the spec market. Will this upswing in deals continue through the rest of the year? #screenwriting

Today I am mostly thinking about when Bryan Fuller was asked what he'd learned showrunning Hannibal, and his answer was "Don't call a character Will."
(And I can't change his name, he's a historical personage...)
