Now a few folks on video talking about how great Kiro is. Danielle talks about using the AWS Docs MCP, which is itself an absolute goddamned indictment of the sorry state of AWS Docs today. There's a lot of that in the industry; companies using AI to paper over things they really should have fixed.

aws console and docs yes are confusing and overwhelming
but it's crazy how much LLMs + IaC just let you avoid the problem - something as obscure as "how do i configure a custom MAIL FROM headers when sending email"
just spits out the code you drop into sst

Along similar lines, some years ago a friend pointed out to me that the best list of AWS services and what they did was in the Azure docs.
it’s not just the websites, it’s the marketing material, powerpoints, “whitepapers” they give us to share with clients that are so full of marketing slop-speak that clients are starting to explicitly ask us to skip all of it. no one knows what it means to accelerate innovation with Ai. no one cares
The thing where companies make websites for their own executives, who never visit them, instead of their customers, who are forced to.

in yak-shaving news I have a support ticket open to register honeycombio on ECR public repos, because I need to run a public-facing OTel collector container as simply as possible on AWS for some docs/integration templates, which means the collector image must be on ECR public, not GHCR or dockerhub.

This week I moved teams at AWS so that I can focus more on building Agent Experience around the SDKs, CLI, and Docs. I'm super excited to get back a more engineering focused role and enable AWS users to be amazingly productive in their AI agents!
