Während die Menschen unter Armut und Hunger leiden, geben Regierungen, insbesondere in den Industrieländern, Hunderte von Milliarden Dollar für die Entwicklung von Kriegsmaterial aus, mit dem sie andere Länder durch Krieg, Einschüchterung und Manipulation kontrollieren. Food Not Bombs (FNB) ist eine solidarische und gewaltfreie Aktion gegen soziale Ungerechtigkeit. Das Teilen von Lebensmitteln ist eine praktische Antwort auf den Hunger, der durch Ungleichheit verursacht wird, wo eine große Anzahl von Menschen keinen Zugang zu Proteinen hat, während eine kleine Elite extravagant lebt und soziales Vermögen für staatliche Aktivitäten nutzt, die mit Gewalt und Unterdrückung von Menschen und der Zerstörung der Ökologie einhergehen. Menschen aus Punk-/Hardcore-, DIY- und Kunstkreisen sowie Anarchisten, die sich für die Kultur des Teilens engagieren und horizontalen Prozessen zugeneigt sind, fühlen sich natürlich zu FNB hingezogen.
