Constructed in 2020, this building in Brownsville is a ten min walk from 4 subway lines (A/C/3/4) and a 4 min walk from the B46 SBS. 22% of homes own a 🚘in this area.
Yet, bc of nyc parking minimums, thousands of square feet of buildable space are.. a parking lot.
A Shanda. Abolish minimums.

I know I am late to this, but why does the discourse surrounding the Utica Ave Subway have to be one of the most toxic out there?
The B46 for most of my life has been among the top 5 most used buses in the city. There is a ton of demand for this. It deserves a proper subway.

These two short extensions would bring the subway to hundreds of thousands of South Brooklyn residents and would be built under (or over) wide avenues that feature (relatively) low concentrations of complex underground utilities.

The Utica line is desperately needed, in particular. The B46 stops sometimes have as many people waiting as on a subway platform.

23 February 1816: geologist William Smith records in his diary that he visited his publisher John Cary and signed 25 copies of his 1815 geological map of England and Wales, numbering them b22 to b46. This is Smith's last record of signing the maps, although later signed and numbered maps are known.
