it isnt enough. her armor is too cumbersome, her blade too heavy. her pistol does most of the work, but soon a flashing indicator tells her the accelerating rails have warped under the high rate of fire. she backsteps a bone scythe aimed at her collarbone, but it manages to hook into her chestplate.

Will likes this point, and I think it's kind of cheating unless you are clear about the context in which it is correct, but the main reason the US economy was the best in the history of Earth is because economic progress since 1750 or so has been on a steady climb upward with occasional backsteps.
