This is awful. And it could be a harbinger of what happens in the horse-racing industry, where the vast majority of backstretch workers are immigrants.

Guess this will be a “wait and see” type of move, but COTA is chopping the course for NASCAR. New lap time will be approximately one minute less after taking roughly a mile off (eliminates backstretch basically).

The horse racing industry says it needs government subsidies to create jobs. But talk to the people who actually work those jobs, and the argument starts to fall apart. I heard heartbreaking stories like this one over and over again...
