My first spring migrant! A drake Northern Shoveler in a winter storm, taken from the dining room window.

Now, a half-decent photographer might have ventured outside to snap a higher-quality shot for the enjoyment of his Bluesky followers. I am not this photographer.

When your phone camera decides to play a last-minute trick on you. 😭

A zoomed in photo of a heron moving across the grass to get on the fallen tree behind it (photo taken earlier this afternoon - it was very windy and raining a lot, so I couldn't open the window). The wind was strong enough to ruffle the heron's feathers .

Saw a towhee up close today at the dog park. It didn't want its photo taken though. #bird #birds #badbirdphotography
A bunch of blackberry brambles with Douglas fir trees in the background and a very overcast grey sky. Amid the brambles: a black bird with a little bit of visible orange belly, turns its head completely away from the camera. It ends up looking like a blob in a bush.

It stayed still, and then it decided to fly off as soon as I took a photo. 🤦🏻‍♀️😵‍💫

One of the two Bramblings regularly visiting our garden feeders over the last couple of months👍 Part of mixed Chaff, Gold & Green finch flock competing with other usual visitors for food #HumberheadLevels #Garden birds

World's (second) worst Peregrine Falcon photo! Was on the Autotrail at Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge and a peregrine buzzed a group of ducks and sent them flying. Managed to get off two frames - the 1st was total garbage, this one lets me confirm ID but is still crap #birds #badbirdphotography
Terrible photo of a peregrine falcon flying away from the photographer. Barely identifiable as such, though ID'd clearly via binoculars at the time.

This morning's goldfinch 🥰

(There were 2, but I missed one grabbing my phone and trying to focus the zoom out of the kitchen window 😅)
