saw an oc art of a scarred long-haired old guy with twin braids along either side of his face who looks sad thinking about this gorgeous brown-skinned, curly, short-haired boy and i thought it was bagginshield with my vision of bilbo

one thing i wish my fave modern AU fanfics of bagginshield do is make bilbo smoke. like that's an important part of him in the book, it's literally how we first met him. so i think it's a disservice if they don't make him smoke. like him and thorin can both share a smoke, yknow

as much as i love toxic bagginshield, like i eat up possessive and jealous thorin every single time, but i just also really love the fact that thorin did do his best to break away from the goldsickness and even asked bilbo's forgiveness. i really love the idea that he'd a better person for bilbo

While relaxing in the newly renovated royal baths of Erebor, Bilbo is joined by Thorin. What starts as a moment of private relaxation quickly turns romantic and flirty as the two share intimate touches and loving conversation.

i know i said i'm not going to talk about bagginshield anymore but i just want to say that i like it when people make them worse, making both of them corrupted by the ring and the arkenstone. it has some angbang vibes in it that scratches my brain

had a bagginshield dream where everyone was trying to figure out how to make bilbo stay at erebor and apparently it was freshly baked cinnamon raisin bagels

on bilbo and the discourse of coming out: it always leaves me a bad taste when bagginshield fandom approaches this side of bilbo with much less nuance, sometimes going along with the fact that he might have only realized he's gay later on (during the adventure) when i'd like to believe it's much

when people write bagginshield modern AUs, they make bilbo so unwhimsical. make him wear floral waistcoats. make him be as extra with his clothes as possible. and why is thorin almost the same age as him? stop being a coward, make him older

i have a bagginshield au in my head set in the philippines where thorin is a leader of an insurgent group fighting against a corporation intent on taking a mountain for mining and bilbo is from a family with indigenous roots but they were long displaced so they have forgotten their history
