Nkisi Kozo Statue ✨
This Bakongo Nkisi Kozo nail fetish dog statue from the Democratic Republic of Congo is a carved wooden power figure in the form of a two headed dog. The doubled heads reflect the belief that dogs could see both spirit and human worlds.

The Waters That Divide: An Archive of the Kalûnga Line
The Kalûnga Line marks the watery threshold in Bakongo cosmology dividing the living from the ancestral dead. This archive traces its cosmogenic origins, cosmogrammatic geometry, devotional observances, and haunting survival across the Atlantic diaspora, where enslavement recast the ocean itself as the boundary between worlds.

The Portuguese anticommunists attempted to exterminate the Bakongo people - Lemmygrad

The Congo was originally inhabited by the Bakongo people. In 1482, the Portuguese arrived and began selling the people in the slave trade. France took control in 1880 and made it their colony. After exploitation and restricted rights of the Congolese people, they gained independence in 1960.

African Medicine Wheel: Dagara (Dagaaba) people, Yoruba people, and Bakongo (Kongo) people

Most people know about medicine wheels in the Americas, but they are also part of Siberian religion, and since people from the Americas came from Siberia, that is to be expected.
