My daughter has inherited my love of a balldress on a bike. When told to go and put on something more practical, this charity shop flamenco dress is what she chose.

The senior spring formal dance was only weeks away
She couldn’t wait to enter with her special sashay
She designed her own balldress
Maybe ‘twas a bit excess
Layers of red taffeta and tulle very cosplay

Petrichora all dressed up for a fancy party ✨️🌊👠
An older portrait I made in '24 😊

When I was more able and living in Brighton, we had 'Tiara Tuesdays', where we'd wear normal clothes plus a tiara (generally home made and very glittery) and go to drink cocktails. I miss #TiaraTuesdays (tinfoil tiaras are so easy to make). I've hoovered in a balldress too. Yay for wearing The Dress

On a sidenote, i ws surprised how many home business seamstresses do not do balldress alterations

Haha okay, that was pretty good. She was in a black balldress standing on a cone of black dominoes to make it look longer, and when it reached her the cone turned into Mt Fuji and her dress tore away to show a white balldress underneath so she could be the snow on Mt Fuji.
