Since COVID, I've certainly noticed it in the bigger fandoms I've been part of, but I am also old enough to remember the weirdass shit that's happened in the past. Bandoms in particular always seemed to be the top of the scale in bizarre, outlandish or outright rude behaviour.

also small bandoms are all fun and games until you and a ton of people get uncomfortable with someone for breaching boundaries, but then proceed to paint you as the devil and put you on their DNI list when you put your foot down.

i joke but also, i have been involved in various niche, small fandoms (mainly bandoms for older bands) so i would like to keep my privacy for those reasons.
i will say though that i will always lurk in classic rock bandom every now and then because that place is comedy central to me.

Oh no im sorry but like Chris was their most well known bodyguard being in blogs, LOTMS, and inked (etc) so people have made fics/etc of him way before you in forums online back then. Anyone knows sometimes bandoms include techs or what not. Shippers never sleep lol

Like 98% of the time for fiction*, but I don’t always fixate on a ship. I don’t really ship anyone from Twst, for example. Love Live has potential but I never really went hard for any pairing.
