Itch.io should take a stance and side with indies; ban or hide all slop. Hard to enforce for sure, but it's a strong message.
I've personally had to disable all bot/agent access to my site, they were eating up my bandwidth, no donations, almost taking down my site for everyone. Why accept this?

I may be overly cynical but "limit bandwidth for people that voluntary disclose" doesn't seem tenable
Step 1. Limit uploads to 10 a day. If all 10 of them have an AI disclosure, give a penalty and limit to 1 a day.
Step 2. Enable no-AI filter by default, allow turning off.
Step 3. Allow users to give community notes.

This. They want to end Personal Computing and move to a model where you stream everything, problem is that No network has the bandwidth to support Everyone streaming everything all the time. Add on their own LLMs gobbling up bandwidth to scrape the net, the whole system slows to an unusable crawl.
