This sunrise spot is the laterite docks in front of the Banteay Kdei. Aka 'A Citadel of Chambers', but also known as "Citadel of Monks' cells”.

The rising sun is about 30 minutes off being clear of the horizon but has risen through a layer of morning fog and clouds before reaching a height with deep blue sky. A bit higher on this morning sky is another belt of clouds. In the field between the son face is sending rays up and down in the cloud systems, on a background of red and yellow slowly turning into blue. The lake under the sun is coloured deep red mirroring the sun, changing into liquid golden colour off the direct sun trail. Cambodia is as safe, comfortable and kind as ever. Angkor and Siem Reap welcomes visitors.
