I agree, I think it's probably because they're not conventionally anime attractive like baroasoryuu are. At least I see a lot of homumiko so I know somebody out there gets me.

TGAA 2 Spoilers

Wherein Barok reveals that he is a vampire, and Kazuma has a completely normal reaction. (baroasoryuu)
A 2 panel comic. In all 4 pages, Barok is drawn in monochrome indigo/purple (with Klint's badge being red), Ryunosuke in monochrome blue (minus Kazuma's red armband), and Kazuma in monochrome red. Panel 1: Barok, arms clasped uncomfortably before him, looks sadly off to the side. He says (to an off-panel Kazuma & Ryunosuke), "You are both indescribably dear to me. Your feelings for me are very much requited. But before we can continue with a relationship, there is one final secret that I've kept from you." Panel 2: Barok, posed as before, says, "I am a vampire. No doubt you have heard many rumors regarding vampires since your arrival in London. I assure you that many have been grossly exaggerated, but..." Panel 1: Barok, continuing his dialogue from the previous page but now off-panel, says, "I will understand if either of you has reservations about my true nature." Ryunosuke and Kazuma stare at him in surprised silence. Panel 2: Ryunosuke takes Barok's hands between his and pulls them to his chest with a gentle smile. He says, "Oh Barok. There's no need to look so fearful. I'm honored by the trust you have in us to reveal this truth." Kazuma just smiles and starts removing his tie in silence. Panel 1: Ryunosuke, continuing his dialogue from before, says, "I know you would never harm us. But if you have concerns..." He trails off when he notices that Kazuma has removed his tie and begun unbuttoning his shirt. Panel 2: Ryunosuke turns to Kazuma with a scowl and asks, "WHAT are you doing?" Kazuma calmly responds, "Making myself available in case he wants a snack." A cut-in shows a mortified chibi Barok screeching, "WHAAAT?!!" Panel 1: Kazuma, sans jacket, sidles over to Barok and drapes an arm around Barok, holding his collar open. He says, "No need to be shy. You can bite me RIGHT here. <3" Barok, blushing and flustered, leans away in embarrassment. Panel 2: Barok poofs into a bat and flies off, leaving Kazuma to fall to the ground.

TGAA 2 Spoilers

Here's the first pair of baroasoryuu drawings that I ever posted online. The perks of having an obnoxiously tall boyfriend include (1) using his height to claim the literal high ground and (2) pretending that if you cannot see your partner, then you are not losing the argument.
Barok stands in the middle, holding Ryunosuke in his arms. Ryunosuke is in the midst of an argument with Kazuma, confidently stating his point. Kazuma scowls up at from where he stands next to Barok, arms crossed sternly. Barok glances back at Kazuma, offering his own opinion in favor of Ryunosuke's point. Kazuma stands behind Barok, half-hidden by his oversized cloak. He was arguing with Ryunosuke and is now stating his point as if Ryunosuke were not standing on the other side of Barok, arms crossed as he scowls at Kazuma. Barok glances back at Kazuma, scowling one hand raised to his face in exasperation at Kazuma's antics.

Wherein Barok makes the mistake of using "dear" and "dearest" too close in succession, and Kazuma is petty. #baroasoryuu
4-panel comic described below. Panel 1: Barok has arrived home and is in the process of removing his top hat and jacket. Kazuma, stripped down to just shirt and suspenders, bows to him and holds out a hand as he says, "I'll take that" (meaning the hat). Barok says, "Thank you, dear." Panel 2: Ryunosuke, wearing a kimono and hakama over his shirt, steps up behind Barok to help him out of his jacket. He says, "And I'll get your coat." Barok smiles and says, "Thank you, dearest." In the background, Kazuma is hanging the top hat on a hat rack, and he glances back in agitation at the words. Panel 3: Kazuma stands before Barok & Ryunosuke with his arms crossed as he says, "Oh, I get it. So I'm just 'dear' but Ryunosuke gets to be 'dearest'?" Barok & Ryunosuke, who is holding Barok's coat in his arms, stare blankly at him for a moment. Panel 4: Barok buries his face in his hand and says, "Are you serious?" Ryunosuke scowls and says, "Really, Kazuma?" Kazuma just turns away in a pout.

TGAA 2 Spoilers

Here's a pic to go along with the fic I mentioned in my previous post. This was drawn for a BaroAsoRyuu ship week last year. I finally wrote the story that goes with this drawing for this year's ship week.
Kazuma stands to the viewer's left and Barok to the viewer's right. They are glancing back at each other, discussing strategy for the upcoming fight. Both are drawing their swords with their dominant hand while their nondominant hands shield Ryunosuke, who stands trembling between them. Though Ryunosuke grips Karuma, he is shaking too badly to draw it, eyes wide in terror as he stares ahead at the thugs closing in around them off-panel. Text in the upper left reads "Day 2: Swords/Tension and Day 5: Life & Death" as this drawing was for the 2023 BaroAsoRyuu Week. The artist's handle skyedancer_rae signs the upper right corner.
