Nero focused on the sound of his steps instead of the suffocating terror he now felt, knowing that just weeks ago his sole goal in life would have made him an enemy of the man who held him captive.

All assets created and acquired before the union shall go to their respective original owners. Any assets, property, and income acquired during the union shall be divided equally, save any of the profits gained by the Baidur Tea and Spice Company or the Baidur Trading Company, both owned by Alabaster Baidur Sabir IV. Instead, Nero Scaeva shall gain a lump sum equal to the total profits gained within the first year of the marriage, adjusted for inflation at the time of separation, with a minimum requirement of 30,000,000g (thirty-million gil). The union waives their right to any further alimony after said payment is completed. In the event of an untimely death before the separation is completed, the arrangement will shall still followed. Any remaining assets, property, and profits shall be given to the heirs of the Baidur estate, as detailed in Alabaster Baidur Sabir IV's will and trust. All other necessary divisions shall be left up to the court at the time of separation.

finally getting to the good stuff in my fic #BasilWrites
A wiser man would step away and run as quickly as he could. A wiser man would spit in Commander Baidur's face and call him a sick pervert. Nothing the Commander said was normal in the slightest. To have such an uncontrollable desire at the mere sight of a pretty, young man was a clear sign that his fiancé was mad, unpredictable, and just as impulsive as him. Nero was intelligent, but he'd never been particularly wise

Smoke Despite the circumstances, Alabaster was not exhausted nor desperate to catch his breath. It was impossible for him to ever feel exhaustion, much less from something as mortal and simple as multiple rounds of sex, yet no amount of aether in his body could quell his desire for tobacco. He pressed the cigarette to his lips, reaching for a match, but the man beside him lit it for him before he could protest, with some sort of contraption he did not understand. He was only allowed one puff before Nero stole it from him. The blonde man blew the smoke to the side, eyes closed in the ecstasy of a proper cigarette, not the horrid vapors they are forced to smoke in Garlemald. Alabaster wondered what would be the most polite way to ask him to blow the smoke towards his face. "I'm shocked you're still awake." Alabaster said bluntly. "Why? Because I lack your youthful vigor? "Truth be told, I'm surprised as well. I couldn't survive four rounds even ten years ago. Yet somehow, I feel… invigorated." Nero scoffed, ashing the cigarette over his expensive carpet. Alabaster bit his lip at the transgression. The blonde turned to face him, lips curved into a wicked grin. "What the hells have you done to me?"

wip wthursday. i love writing yearning nero #basilwrites
Then, before he could allow himself to panic, just as he had done that very morning, Nero heard a sound so specific he'd committed it to memory. It was the subtle sound of thin, gold chains moving to-and-fro with each step, and with the sway of a long tail. Nero turned his head just enough to acknowledge the younger man's presence, but he did not move an inch from his chair. He crossed his arms on instinct with the same stubborn instinct that kept him awake. Far too many times has the hero faltered at his doorstep, hesitated before a touch, whispered words that should have been shouted from rooftops. No more. Nero looked at the water and waited for the steps to grow closer. A small exhale of relief still escaped him when he saw the man stand by his side. "Neglecting your duties?" The Commander asked, with the same feigned nonchalance they have perfected after years of playing the same role. "Hm…? No, I am not neglecting my duties. Honestly, am I not allowed even a moment to myself? A genius needs to reflect on his thoughts, you know." Nero said with a forced smirk. The au ra rested his hand against the back of his chair. Nero expected to hear the wood crack under the man's strength. Instead, the wood hid the way Alabaster's fingers gently touched the back of his neck. It was as if all the blood in Nero's body rushed to the soft skin just to be near his touch. It used to be very noticeable whenever Nero felt flush, now it hid safely hidden behind long, golden curls—just as Alabaster liked it.

His entire body felt light as air as the Commander zipped up his dress. Nero wanted him to dress him up more often. It was impossible to think straight when he was under this level of control—a welcome release from his ever nagging thoughts. The Commander's lips met the back of his neck. It was a lucky thing that Nero's face was hidden as he spoke. "Why dress me up if you're just going to take it off?" "I never said I would take this off." Baidur answered in a low voice. "Reach down and see for yourself." He moved Nero by his shoulders until he was facing the nearest mirror, then placed his hands at his slender waist. It only made him feel smaller. Nero avoided his own gaze as he reached down between his legs. Large hands hiked up his dress ever so slightly until they could both see the instant Nero's fingers found a hole in both his underwear and his stockings. "You pervert." Nero said with a smirk, still facing the glass. "…Call me that again."

[sorry for any mistakes, im kind of rusty]
Flow Time broke with the simple snap of a string. As it stood still, Silos paced around his target to analyze the scene before him, calculating his choices. On the one hand, he could allow fate to take its cruel, unforgiving course—his wizarding companion becoming yet another unrecognizable, charred body in the forest. On the other hand, he could save Gale from certain death with a snap of a finger, forcing time itself to bend to his whim. Silos could lie and tell himself that he wasn't going to do this ever again, but the statistical likelihood of their marriage increased with each passing day. The numbers never lied to him. Surely, the universe could forgive his transgressions against the flow of things if he offered it a good story. "That was a close one! Clearly, they were no match for a mage of my talents." Gale said with tantalizingly misplaced confidence. Silos replied with an innocent smile.

He crossed his arms and frowned with a well practiced air of confidence. "Well? Can someone please tell me if I'm sleeping in a cell or in a proper bed tonight?" The tall elezen man raised an eyebrow as he stared at a chart instead of him. He wore a white, decorated uniform that felt uncharacteristic for the city. A foreigner, mayhaps? He had light brown skin and snow white hair with piercing blue eyes. His brows stayed furrowed even as he looked away from his chart, and he had the early signs of wrinkles which indicated his face was in a permanent state of frowning or contemplation. Nero felt tempted to raise his fingers to his own forehead, knowing fully well he was heading down the same path. If he managed to live that long.

something scandalous for #wipwednesday

The Commander's jaw visibly clenched. He grabbed the glass of wine from Nero's grasp. As he was readying himself to yell at the younger man, tail raised high as if it was ready to strike at the nearest target, the wine fell to the floor. Nero jumped as it splashed over his shoes. The au ra was not spared either, the wine all but soaked the hem of his trousers and his finely polished leather derbies. The rest went to the floor, with a large puddle between them that managed to derail their entire conversation. "Fucking hells." Nero scoffed and took a step back. "Look what you've done! Who's going to clean this now that your staff is gone? I certainly am not!" Commander Baidur grimaced, hands shaking as he tried to move away from the puddle. "It's… sticky." He said dumbly. "I do not know where the cleaning tools even are." "Of course you don't." "Are you just going to stand there and mock me? I cannot allow this to soak into the floor overnight!" Nero rolled his eyes. "Lick it clean, then. I don't care. I'm going to bed." Their gaze met at Nero's words, both falling silent at the suggestion. Nero felt his face grow hotter and hotter with each passing second he did make any effort to retire for the night. The older man swallowed, his eye darting from Nero's face to the wine on the floor. Was he truly considering Nero's order? Was Nero so determined to find out? Wordlessly he watched as Commander Baidur slowly knelt to the floor. It was slow enough that Nero could have stopped him at any moment, or he could have humiliated him further for even thinking of dragging his tongue against the floor. Neither would have worked in his favour—the humiliation was part of the appeal. If he ordered the man to stand up, he would not be shocked if he saw the weight of his interest press against his tailored trousers. Nero grit his teeth together to ignore the heat that blazed within his body. One of the most powerful men in Ul'dah was kneeling before him, about to lick the floor of his own mess like some sort of twisted, pathetic form of penance. And it was working. Nero's breath hitched at the sight, unsure of what to do but stare as the au ra's long tongue began to lap at the expensive wine. Not enough to actually make any progress in cleaning the floor, but enough to prove that he would do just as Nero asked. He could feel his hands shaking as the overwhelming desire to do something, anything to the man took over his mind. Nero wasn't sure if he wanted to kick him, berate him, or kneel right beside him and taste the very spot where his tongue met the floor.

snippet of my fic with an exchange i really like (forgive the typos its still a first draft)

#BasilWrites
Commander Baidur took it out of his inside pocket and gently unfolded it for Nero to read. It was written in Eorzean Common, mayhaps for his sake. 0830 - Arrival at breakfast, reservation for two. 0845 - Should be ready to order. Order croque madame and a strong black tea. Allow Mister Scaeva to order what he wants. 0900 - Enough time has passed to inquire about newspaper article. Open discussion, but strongly suggest next planned step. 0930 - Meal should be finished by then. Rest after meal/Mister Scaeva might want extra coffee. 0955 - Do not exceed this time at breakfast if we wish to remain on schedule. 1000 - Leave to Goldsmith's Guild, middle rings. Sapphires and gold. Oval, marquise, pear… Nero gave up as he saw the itinerary was actually two more pages of each minute meticulously planned to the letter, each one with notes more undecipherable than the last. If the man was so insistent on planning their every waking minute, then he would have to be the one determined to change it in some way. Mayhaps even ruin it. He gave the notes back to The Commander and slumped in his seat. "Do you ever allow yourself to have any fun?" "I am enjoying myself at the moment." The Commander tilted his head. "I find writing lists and planning to be quite stimulating." Nero laughed and shook his head. "The only thing I ever plan are my inventions. Even then, there are times where I merely follow the whims of the circuits and forget to stop pushing my designs to its limits. It has earned me quite a few scars." He said, gently rubbing his thumb over the smooth skin of his palm. "Then that is where we shall differ. I prefer… rigidity. 'Tis what made me join the military." The Commander said. "Because you wanted a tight schedule? Is that the only reason?" His voice sounded far too tight for it to come across as mere curiosity, but The Commander did not seem to realize. "Truth be told, yes. Thankfully, it allowed me to excel beyond anyone's expectations." He could feel his teeth clenching in bitter jealousy. Nero closed his eyes and swallowed it. Oh, to have a life where one sells their soul to a broken nation for something as trivial as a the desire for a strict schedule. Nero had no other choice but to join the military, and he failed even at that. Now he was at the mercy of a rich man who wanted to parade him around as his pretty bride. He would have the military honours, and Nero would have nothing but all the money in the world. He decided against starting yet another argument and gave his companion a practiced polite smile. "That's good." He said flatly.

it was wip Wednesday yesterday but im posting this today. toying with writing from alabaster's perspective with prometheus speaking to him

#basilwrites #wip
Alabaster walked upstairs to the familiar sight of a crowded tavern. The Seventh Heaven was always busiest in times of strife and celebration. Today it was a confounding mixture of both as some patrons celebrated the liberation he'd helped achieve, as others mourned the lives lost in the process, Thancred being one of them. He was unsure how close the twins were to the man, but it clearly did not stop them from worrying. While he could not bring himself to care about their fallen ally, he cared so much about the pair it made his chest ache. Which is why he quickly whisked the bottle of wine that was placed beside Alisaie before she could take a sip. "Chateau du Hanteinarte? Ghastly. Don't you dare serve her that." He said to the waiter. "Bring us a bottle of the Costa Vineyard red, the one from '82. Seventh Umbral. On my tab." Alisaie scoffed. "I can pick my wine well enough, thank you very much. It's not my fault they all taste like piss." "Alisaie!" Her brother said, still somehow concerned by her rough language no doubt influenced by their travels. There were times where he would have chided her, reminding them both of their manners. He cannot understand why it would matter when they are constantly subjected to the worst sights that men had to offer. [THE BLADE AGAINST THAT VILLAINS NECK STILL HAUNTS YOU? SUCH IS THE NATURE OF A PROPER COMBAT. THE SIGHT OF HIS DEFEAT SHOULD BRING YOU PRIDE.] He forced his eyes shut until the voice in his head kept quiet. For once, it did not take long. Prometheus had been oddly kinder as of late. Ever since his combat against the great serpent Shrinyu, that damned voice has not once ordered him to do something, he now only observed. Reacted. Suggested. But he never ordered Alabaster around. Only a true show of strength made him worthy of respect as a man and a fighter. No matter how much he wanted to disprove it, the path Nald'thal has thrust upon him only continued to prove otherwise. "I am not ashamed due to the violence, sir." He thought to the mind he did not truly own. Years of training and humiliation by Prometheus made him now feel obligated to respond. "I'm ashamed that I enjoyed it." [GOOD. I KNOW YOU. YOU WOULDN'T CONTINUE IF YOU HATED IT.]
