Yeah to be a slight bummer: the world of fortresses still very much on the menu. It’s an open question if you can trust the US with say, military decisions with decades long time scales (procurement, basing, etc). What if in 2036 Ohio voters go nuts again?
Betting that a single round of midterm elections means the United States is back to choosing the governments it had before 2016 and it can be counted on to continue doing so for the foreseeable future is a rather large bet.
