Sounds a bit like my Artificer Armorer in one DND campaign. And the armor is semi autonomous, so it's a mix of Armorer and Battlesmith.

So.. the new dnd arcana unleashed stuff tickles my brain. I love summoner/pet classes. So with Artificer you can now have a familiar, a homunculus servant, and one of two subclass pets depending on what you decide to play (Battlesmith/Reanimator.) And I’m just eager for my kobold artificer for this.

Me using Flash of Genius saved so many people's rolls in the Curse Strahd campaign i was in. Artificers are really cool support. Iplayed a Battlesmith with a Gun and basically became the party's Battle Medic

Another point was his Steel Defender as a Battlesmith Artificer. Riffing off the initial oneshot, i wont for a spin on something local to that. Very quickly Hewie became a Deep Rothé as we just used it as a beast of burden bewteen fights.

GA-SHUNK was said a lot for attacks.

This one's a cameo from my friend's 5e Mongrelfolk Artificer. He was already a little frankenstein freak, so he fits perfectly as a War Dog.

Ravi is skilled with a variety of weapons adept at fighting with swords, sword whips, daggers, carbines and more. He’s a skirmisher often spitting venom at his opponents, calling on spirit snakes to aid him and smiting them with the venom of the divine serpents.

This is, of course, why the good Artiifcer subclasses are actually really strong...at specific levels (artillerist at 3, battlesmith at 5; not convinced armorer is ever good but peaks at 9...or maybe 10). But even less than martial classes, the class doesn't scale.
