Over today’s issues caused by Comcast. My security cameras won’t even stay connected! I’m living life at 14.4… nay! 2400 baud.
That scheduled visit Saturday that was never fully scheduled could have saved me. Tomorrow’s visit can’t come fast enough!

As a 51 year old who had a 300 baud modem in college, I think those were concerns about the margins and not the center of the new technology, as we’re seeing with AI. After 15 years of enshittification, data mining, spam, and scams, it’s hard to imagine the giddy optimism of / about early tech.

We were excited for every screech, tone, and white noise sound of the 1200k baud modem for the green on black BBS system to eventually type itself across the 2 foot deep screen.
It was incredible.
