I think Hoorn would have been nicer if the sun had been out. It’s a lovely little harbour town with narrow, charming streets. #bearinHolland

Berne Abbey was founded in 1134 and is the longest-standing monastic community in the Netherlands. Berne Abbey beer is brewed according to the abbey’s own recipe at partner breweries. As Human still had to drive home, we bought a bottle to take home with us. #bearinHolland #smallbearsneedbeer

Ah, this is what it's all about. (Although I don't think this is the best beer in the world). A bit chauvinistic perhaps, but I love Belgian beer. #travellingbear #bearinHolland #Heineken #smallbearsneedbeer

The flat roof, the brick façades and the long, rhythmic rows of windows gave the Juliana School a ‘strict’ appearance, but the decorative ornaments soften this. Dudok designed it in 1925. #bearinHolland

The tale of the cunning fox Reynaert is a satirical animal fable that holds up a mirror to medieval society. Places in the area around Hulst are recognisable in the story. The town therefore calls itself ‘Reynaertstad’. #bearinHolland

The city council asked Dudok in 1920 to draw up plans for the construction of a ‘public bathhouse and some 30 workers’ homes’. From 1921 to 1975, the bathhouse served as a bathing facility for the surrounding neighbourhood. In 2018, the building was converted into two private homes. #bearinHolland

Hulst Town Hall was built between 1528 and 1539. It was Emperor Charles V who granted permission for its construction. That is why the tower is crowned by a double-headed eagle, symbolising the empire to which the land of Hulst belonged as part of the County of Flanders. #bearinHolland
