Tonight's Youtube upload from my archives is a ZX Spectrum 1-bit / beeper speaker tune called "Battle Mode" from 2016. Written with Beepola using "Tritone"-engine (was also my first "Tritone"-tune I think). www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxve... #chiptune #zxspectrum #beepola #tritone #1bit

Music Monday: Cecconoid's thumping soundtrack was composed by h0ffman using a variety of tools including Ableton, ProTracker, Beepola tracker, and 1-Tracker, and even features a bonus C64 track by Jason Page.

oh huh, i hadnt seen this
ive been using beepola for that sort of thing for years... i wonder if furnace has those engines now
(checking) yeah it has at least 2 lol

I think that's because his driver could produce 5 or 6 notes through pwm, so in that sense it has 6 "channels" that the cpu knows about, even though it all goes to 1 bit pc speaker. I'm not an expert on zx spectrum but I've used Beepola to make a few trax.

I can make zx spectrum music, either with the 1-bit beeper (using beepola) or with the 8-bit psg chip (using vortex tracker). I actually prefer 1bit for its novelty and grit, but I'm more experienced with the psg because it's the same as atari st and sunsoft 5B.

You'll probably get more control from beepola tbh as much as I like chipsounds it feels awkward trying to program chiptune automation in it

Will have to look into furnace...

trying out Beepola tracker.. actually much simpler then i was expecting it to be!

Today's dose of my Winter Chip XX entries dropped to the SoundCloud. This one is a ZX Spectrum beeper speaker/1-bit tune. Written with Beepola & Tritone-engine. "Warlord - Where A Sinclair C5 Roams" soundcloud.com/armagon/warl... #chiptune #1bit #ZXSpectrum #beepola #battlefothebits #WinterChipXX
