It seems like forever since I've put on my beesuit, but there was a huge hornet nest hanging over the sidewalk in our neighbourhood, so I took care of them. Then someone else had a wasp nest and I was already suited up so I went and killed those bastards too. And I got flowers out of the deal! 😆

Sudden dilemma: I’ll be getting up close and personal to this nest with some insecticide. My instinct is to wear my beesuit to keep the Yellowjackets off my face… but then I would get insecticide all over my beesuit. No bueno.

Took a bee sting to the back of the neck (before I even had my beesuit on, when I was 30 feet from the hive), and two more to the ankle (through my black socks).
To be fair the bees had a traumatic event this week (I took some of their honey), but this by far is the most defensive they've been.

I keep getting calls from friends to deal with house wall cavity invasions. I’m just a beekeeper, not an exterminator, but nevertheless maybe I should eventually get a separate beesuit dedicated to extermination work.

This may become a regular thing. Last week he was wanting to look in my beehives. Put the beesuit on a bench and lit the smoker. Dropped his lighter inside the smoker. Put it down. Lighter exploded, jumped out and landed on beesuit. Beesuit up in flames. Idiot.
My Dad was telling us yesterday how he had to cut back a tree with a chainsaw at work. He was up a ladder cutting through a branch and the chainsaw got stuck.
I never could have predicted what he did next.
He kept hold of the chainsaw and jumped off the ladder to pull it free.
