They may well have hoped, but surely they didn't EXPECT it, right?

What is it about this man that makes people think he's going to act differently than he always has? In a broad sense, he is so incredibly predictable, but everyone around him seems incapable of extrapolating his behavior.

Which is why, I personally, find analyzing union voter behavior under a single "union vs non union" lens is about as useful as lumping all non-Whites under "POC". Put another way in crude terms of how broad categories can fail the analysis, Jews vote more Black than Hispanics do.

Saying papers can’t publish about a well known comedian accused of predatory sexual behavior of young girls because he might be a suicide risk, is a weaponizing of mental health concerns and won’t help David Walliams avoid scrutiny when it comes down to it.

The NY Times is blaming Haley Stevens behavior on El-Sayed. Oh, if only he hadn't hurt her feels....

Just in case you have any doubt that the NY Times is putting its thumb heavily on the Republican side of the scale.

'Evolution in the act': Study reveals species changes in a warming world
Yale research scientist Saúl Domínguez-Guerrero didn’t set out to catch “evolution in the act” when he traveled to the Caribbean with a team of Yale researchers a few years ago. At the time, the team from the lab of evolutionary biologist Martha Muñoz planned to do fieldwork on Caribbean anoles, colorful, tree-dwelling lizards native to warmer regions of the Americas. The team was studying many species of these reptiles as part of a project to determine the role that behavior plays in shaping physiological evolution. Having studied these lizards in the past, they thought they knew what they’d find. But back in New Haven, their data told an unexpected story. “Saúl comes into my office one day and says, ‘Martha, I’m noticing something weird in the temperature readings, and I think there might be something interesting going on here,” recalled Muñoz, an associate professor tenure of ecology and evolutionary biology in Yale’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Specifically, Domínguez-Guerrero found that that ability of some lizards to withstand blistering temperatures had increased markedly over just a decade, a sign of physiological adaptation. “I observed these shifts in heat tolerance,” said Domínguez-Guerrero, who has been studying thermal adaptation in animals since...

DOI and NPS so-called "leadership" should be ashamed of themselves for this obsequious behavior.

But I really feel bad for the rank-and-file NPS career employees who keep our national park lands and momuments running in the midst of all of this.

AI chatbots are becoming political advisers. Their answers can mislead voters
Voters are increasingly turning to AI chatbots for information ahead of the midterms, yet many of the most popular ones may give misleading information about candidates and polling site opening times, according to researchers. Some chatbots have even provided lists of candidates to vote for, raising concerns among experts that AI-generated misinformation could influence voters' decisions. "We've been increasingly seeing the role of AI delivering answers to users in a very authoritative, very convincing way, but with meaningful errors as a point of concern," said Tim Chambers, primary researcher at Innovating for the Public Good (IFPG), a nonprofit focused on democracy research. "Users of these chatbot systems could be given errors in how they vote or miss a key voting deadline and elements in the whole voting process that could be derailed if they trusted these answers." An ongoing study by IFPG is testing how seven major chatbots (Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, Anthropic's Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, OpenAI's ChatGPT and Perplexity) respond to authentic voter questions, including projected winners, policy platforms, candidate comparisons, candidate backgrounds, controversies, and voting rules. In data collected in October, 13.9% of chatbot answers to voting-logistics questions were outdated or inaccurate. Errors in...

As a person who is considered a woman, I find it repulsive that she’s playing the misogyny card inappropriately here.

Own your bad behavior and poor decisions.

If I were not so sick tig hr now I’d turn this into a satire of an AITAH post on Reddit. Jeepers.

Store policies change, and a static check can't tell you everything about an extension's behavior. You'll still want to review the current official requirements. It gives you a set of findings to work through before submission, but approval is still up to the store.

RAR/CBR is outside this tool's scope. It also doesn't promise to carry over every timestamp, permission, or archive metadata field. The goal here is keeping the actual files intact while changing the archive format.
