It’s great when people mispronounce words though as you know they probably learnt it by reading & English is a total mess of homonyms, homophones, calques & loan words that it’s hardly surprising people don’t always know how to say a word

I'm actually astounded. I didn't know beavers had webbed feet. I believe the Belvoirs have webbed hands.

Belvoir’s Orlando is a love letter to the contemporary queer community that doesn’t quite come together
First published in 1928, Virgina Woolf’s Orlando throws gender politics into the air. A new adaptation fails to define a problem for Orlando to push back against.

Oh, no doubt. It was more of a rhetorical question as to why *that specific* hunt… why do we call people berks rather than, say, quorns or belvoirs?

(Wikipedia implies it was originally a London/Cockney term and the Berkeley had a major following amongst “the prosperous London middle classes”).

I've been getting my mouth around some sparkling Belvoirs recently. Theur Mojito mocktail is very nice.
