Yay, I've arrived @HGIBirminghamBP ready for the early careers development day of #BES2018 !

I was just telling some new friends about @STEMAmbassadors during lunch of the @BES_careers event today at #BES2018. I was really lucky to get mentioned by @UKLadybirds during her career talk. I think #STEM has been the most enjoyable public engagement I've done!

I love the concept of aloha aina. It was quite an experience living in Hawaii, but for me home is best. #BES2018

Didn't have chance to stop and chat to @lynseyrharper (I got there before you had arrived I think), but was very intrigued. I nabbed a hand out to digest once the info overload of #BES2018 abates. https://t.co/9KE3Jahds4

A good app from @CrowdCompass for #BES2018.

It would be nice if the presenter profiles could be linked to attendee profile.

Would be great if, having linked twitter, Facebook & twitter the app added contacts to the app contacts. Networking dream!

This is interesting. Not sure how I feel about them charging £9.99. I suppose you pay to go to conferences.

@BritishEcolSoc in future it might be nice if access was included in the conference price. This way you could watch anything you missed. What do you think #BES2018? https://t.co/UGYV6HQUjA

Looking forward to #BES2018 this week, though I’ll only be there for Tuesday and Wednesday (when I’ll be talking about colonisation pressure in the invasion biology session).

Very nice talk by @HenPringle on the effects of alien game bird releases in the UK on native predatory bird populations. Interested to see countrywide data on the distribution of numbers being reared... #BES2018

Getting a bit star struck by these Ecological Greats at #BES2018 today. I asked what they were taking to halt the ageing process, and am happy to report it's fresh air and red wine.

A lovely day, talking ecology, hearing about interesting science and catching up with some old friends #BES2018 (despite a malevolent virus trying to spoil it for me). Should really do this every year...

Analysing alien establishment at the species level is a bad idea #BES2018 - to see why, click below:

Just submitted our abstract to #BES2018. "Temporal lags in extinctions across different levels of diversity after 165 years of habitat change" with @PlueJan . Sooooo many hours too spare

Plant species are slow compared to invertebrates and birds. Very little change after 20 years in a upland grazing experiment @RobinPakeman. #BES2018 Lucky that i work with historical maps 😁
