Does it? How many US voters know what was in the BigAwfulBill? How many understand marginal tax rates? Senate rules don't keep getting Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley re-elected. I don't think filibuster itself is good or bad: it's good when it is used to block Trump bills, bad when used to block Biden.

It seems like a strong deal: he got the Rs to split DHS/Ice from the rest of the continuing resolution. Now it has to go back through the House and the Senate and so a shutdown will only effect DHS (although ICE has continuing funding via the BigAwfulBill )

The entire state of South Dakota voted for Project 2025, Trump and the BigAwfulBill by 63.4%. So there's that.
