the Hague spui has an example, but might be challenging in places less used to bikes: wide pedestrianized street, wide 2-way bikepath along it but to one side (not directly in the middle), with curbs that disappear at intersections (mostly with narrower pedestrian streets w/ no (legal) biking)

Once I got hit by a pickup who was stopped in the bikepath next to a road. I was in his apparent blindspot, directly in front of the driver. And my head and shoulders were above his hood.

Just found out that the spillway bridge you can see at bottom is getting a NYS funded $1.4M renovation for trail/footpath/bikepath which is awesome as it's a real pinch point.

ok, but is it because we get so much practice? I've had lots of streets that were open with orange cones surrounding the car lane, and the bikepath symbol or pedestrian symbol is crossed out. Blocking cycle paths seems like a routine first step in a construction project.

Yesterday's bike ride finished on the same bikepath where we had "The Goose Incident" a few years ago.
That was the day when we learned that when a goose flies right at your head you do what the goose wants: we turned around.
And we discovered the country road beside the bike path is very nice.
