I might take the energy usually put into Binderary in Feb and shift it to May.
May isn't a good month & this year's may is shaping up to be bad (sorry this is vague, alas I will not elaborate)
BUT, what if I just don't give myself any time to spiral because I'm too busy making books to think.

If you've had an inkling towards learning how to fan/bookbind in the past, here's your sign. Looks like an amazing event for beginners, and the RBG's member code of conduct is proship in values (DL;DR, YKINMKATO, SALS), so get in there! 📚 #fanbinding #bookbinding #binderary2025

📚 Bookbinding sprint / Binderary week 3 roundup: twelve books! (One not pictured, it’s an example for my class in April so it’s at the library.) Total is now up to 40. Two more and I reach my smaller goal!

Taking Bookbinding Requests!
Any authors out there who have a fic of theirs they'd like bound, for free (except for shipping)? I want to bind as many books as possible for the rest of binderary + need fics to bind, so I'm taking requests for authors' copy gifts until February 28th.

📚 Bookbinding sprint / Binderary week 2 roundup: I got sidelined by Covid so major plans had to wait, but I still managed three books! Two early in the week and one yesterday.

Pre-Binderary shelfie for posterity! Planning on at LEAST 28 books next month, trying to clear out both the queue and the cache. Got the space for new ones cleared today!

We all emphasize that anyone can make a book without any fancy tools or materials. In fact, we are preparing for an all-month event called Binderary where we make presentations and tutorials on typesetting, materials, and various kinds of books.

📚 Bookbinding Sprint / Binderary: Two books left to meet my goal! Both in their end stages—just endbands and then they’ll need cased in. I’ll probably make the cases tomorrow when I get up and then do the endbands (if I do them 😅) and I’ll be all finished!

And probably the last one I’ll finish for Binderary, Soeak Now! My remaining goal is to get the rest printed for when the rest of my endpapers are here in a couple of weeks. This one has another gradient headband! I may do most of them this way, but definitely not all.

Binderary day one! RUNAWAY by zulu, my copy of a SMAU I typesetted as part of our guild’s archival effort; two HPRF fics, and two lyric books! The second photo is of RUNAWAY and the larger HRPF endpapers—hand-marbled by Renato Crepaldi.

Re: bookbinding - had a very productive #Binderary (super classes, as always) - completed moderate track - 8 books & 5 typesets. Mostly experiments - some marbling, octavos/quartos, a long letter folio, flexibounds, and a dosido bradel. A few minor measuring/glue snafus, but good results overall.

For binderary this year, I had a dream of binding a bunch of books using the same style—so I did a giveaway offering to make 1 book (or 2 mini books) each per fanfic author, and I am so so grateful to each one for the opportunity to bind their fics!!

But I’m mostly prepped for Binderary! I lent my iron to my SIL and haven’t gotten it back and my printer is so out of toner it’s decided not to bother trying to print (rude) but otherwise going well
