I have advanced this to GCC 13.5+binutils 2.41+LLVM 23. funny bit, just linking mimalloc into the build I improved performance by 15% because musl "ping pongs" back to the OS by giving it memory back too eagerly. 300k mmap syscalls to compile 1 (one) .c file! musl's allocator is bad at any speed
Last night I had 6-astra-max plan out and begin working on a port of the full source nix/guix bootstrap to raw Buck2 BUILD files and it apparently completed this morning! will be interesting to evaluate how it did here

Turns out they have a toolchain for this but it's this ancient ahh version of Binutils (2.17) and GCC (4.1.1) that won't compile with modern GCC...
Does anyone know how I can compile OpeniBoot in 2026? I tried some shenanigans but they produced a binary I couldn't use. When I loadibec it onto my iPod touch 1G, it just disconnects and crashes.

If you're wondering how I got that table output, hot binutils tip of the day, you can pass `ld` the `--print-memory-usage` flag and it will just spit it out for you, quite useful

fuuu, macOS nm kann ELF nicht. Muss binutils installieren. Ich vermute, die haben da DWARF in den shared libs drinnen. Und zumindest bei OpenCV weiss ich, dass man nur für face detection keine 5MB braucht. Kleine Pause...
