Excited to work with Rob's team on extending the salmon/tximeta/Bioc tool chain for long read quantification with oarfish. Lots of interesting challenges but plan to deliver the same high level of provenance detection automatically 🤖
Ultimately, the goal of this - in collab with @mikelove.bsky.social & lab - is to bring the kind of reproducibility & automagic features enabled by tximeta (plus more; stay tuned!) to the long-read quantification ecosystem. Anyway, turned out to be a cool way to provide this feature. 6/6

To add to this thread from Tommy, the reason the accessor function is _safer_ than @ in S4/Bioc:
the function is user-facing (think API) while the @ symbol refers to the data structure, which may change (think backend)
Allows for developer flexibility while not breaking user code.
