The paleobiogeographical history of giraffes is just crazy:
"an Afro- Asian early radiation, Miocene dispersal pulses into Eurasia, and a progressive Plio-Pleistocene contraction culminating in the restriction of the clade to Africa."

Traditional cultural landscape, Transylvania, Romania. Mosaic, native vegetation cover wide and virtually unfragmented, gradients, no fence, no roads, every species present which can be expected from biogeographical perspective. Not wild. Cultural. People can do good, can make beauty and harmony.

"Stem tetrapod" from the Early Permian. You can think about it as a "living fossil" holdover from the earliest Carboniferous. But as Jason and others explain it was specialized in its dentition, completely weird and possibly was herbivorous!
