I think the entire idea of space colonization is ridiculous. We couldn’t get Biosphere2 to work even with cheating and adding to it partway through the original time frame, we’re not gonna build century ships.

An interesting historical aside: Steve Bannon was the guy put in charge of Biosphere2 by its billionaire builder.
It had to be stopped first because the CO2 levels were building up to dangerous levels (really), and second because former crew broke in to warn new people Bannon was back in charge.

Steve Bannon has been talking about “dismantling the administrative state” since 2016. The politics of systematic sabotage we are currently witnessing was already clearly the Trumpian plan in 2019 when I wrote this thread. This is their long game and they are really going for it hard.
