The BIPM in France has a vault where they store the reference for one kilogram*, and if you peer behind it there's a bottle of Lee & Perrins, the reference for Worcestershire sauce. Maybe I just made this fact up, but maybe I didn't.

To be the Director of BIPM is to hold the top job in the world of metrology. Annette will become the first woman and the first New Zealander to hold the role in BIPM’s 150-year history. I've worked with Annette for years. She's incredible, will do a wonderful job, and I'll miss her terribly!
