The Challenge: Re-read Bird and Bayonet with me so I don't get bored re-reading 150k words I wrote.

The Reward: Chapter 21 finally finished(?)

A moodboard for Bird and Bayonet, a civil war Reylo AU written by Doorkeeper9. Images include an illustration of a male and female bird perching, two hands reaching for each other and then grasping, a woman's neck with a red scar across it, and a man's chest with a scar running down it.

Finally figured out how to unlock that bayonet rifle, her sidequest took forever

...aka me trying more pixel art :D

Pixel art of a dark skinned woman in blood-stained naval uniform. She is handing over a rifle with a bayonet attached, with a faint smile. Text on the image says: "TRICE: Consider it a gift, little bird."

That's it, that's the most Bird + Bayonet thing I've ever written
Rey: "Next time I'll /hit/ you." Kylo: "Why don't you hit me this time?"

A few more chapters along in my Bird & Bayonet re-read (#B&BReread looks like I'm terribly misspelling "bread") and I'm enjoying the early tension between Rey and Ren. I just wanna shout at her "YOU'RE GONNA KISS THOSE LIPS"

I made this for the fic ‘bird and bayonet’ of chapter 10 where Ben teaches Rey how to play cards.

archiveofourown.org/works/248000...

I don’t think the author ever saw it. They went quiet since their last update.

I may have some smut from chapter 20 laying around.

Two completely normal, functional adults from Bird and Bayonet #reylosss
He's already laid down on his side of the hut, inconveniently blocking the chimney. "I need to start the fire." "So start it," he growls. Rey grips the firewood and glares at him. He's spoiling for a fight, which means it's better punishment to do as he says. Swiftly, she lobs a log over his body and into the hearth; it lands with a loud thud and a puff of ash. Kylo's hands twitch, but he stays where he is. Rey scowls in annoyance and throws a second log. "You missed," he says.

Once a year or so I get sucked into a Yu-Gi-Oh video game and while I usually don't talk about it but I just want to point out how funny I think the art for Blackwing Armed Wing, a Todd McFarlane-ass bird man wielding a bayonetted shotgun, is.
The card Blackwing Armed Wing. There's a lot of very small text that isn't important but the picture itself is an absolutely ripped birdman wearing a gas mask and bare midriff with a giant shotgun that has a Warhammer 40k-ass bayonet at the end.

Transformers Beast Hunters Dreadwing! I love the “screw it, let’s just have fun” approach of Beast Hunters. Why is Dreadwing bird-themed & carrying a chainsaw axe that he can combine with his chainsaw bayonetted rifle to make a chainsaw poleaxe? Who cares, it’s fun! Sad it didn’t get a Skyquake deco
Beast Hunters Dreadwing. Like the regular Dreadwing except with peacock feathers and eagle feet slippers. He’s carrying a chainsaw axe and a rifle with a chainsaw bayonet … which combine into an enormous bright yellow chainsaw poleaxe he can hold with both hands. How could you not love this?
