Hummingbird finished on Seawhite smooth watercolour paper. Decided to try watercolour pencils as the base colour then coloured pencils on top as I had seen an artist do that although on pastel paper.

A coloured pencil drawing on Strathmore Vellum A4 paper of a Vermilion flycatcher. The bird has a red head dark brown stripe around the eye that stretches to the back of its head. It has an orange belly, brown wings and green underside to its tail. Its dark feet are perched on a branch. Under the branch is a patch of green lichen attached to a small twig. I didn’t do too much background detail as I ran out of time.
