It was most likely on 6 March 1943 that RTp Ardito depth-charged HM/Sub Turbulent, which was lost with all hands on patrol. She has not been found.
In August 1942 Turbulent attacked and damaged Italian merchant Nino Bixio on its northbound run. Bixio was carrying 3,200 POW, of whom 336 were killed.

#OTD in 1942, Hauptmann Wilhelm of Flak Kompanie 501, equipped with quadruple 20mm AA guns and serving on merchant vessels in the Mediterranean, wrote up his report on how he and some of his men survived 9 days on a float after the torpedoing of MV Nino Bixio on 17 August 1942.

Nino Bixio was eventually towed to Venice and sunk as a block ship there at the end of the war. She was raised and restored to service in 1952 and scrapped in 1971.
