I've still never listened to it. I liked Surkin back in the "Tiger Rhythm" days but his recent stuff generally leaves me cold, much like all the French ex-bloghaus types

the kids love bloghaus indie sleaze whatever u wanna call it and they also love something they're calling "millennial optimism" (girl idk) but what was crazy to me was seeing someone sharing their fav "indie" music from the 10s and Violent Femmes was on there

There’s a concerted effort to rehab / bring back indie sleaze and Ed Banger bloghaus. Which would just be tedious, if those efforts weren’t so clearly associated w/ LES nazi podcasters, who are themselves embedded with immensely popular artists like Charli XCX

So mainstream fashion and music is taking inspo from the indie sleaze aesthetic and bloghaus, lady gaga reheated her nachoes with her new album (MAYHEM), and now your telling me we going through ANOTHER american recession.

Here's some feelings: I just refamiliarized myself with how susceptible I was (and still am) to some extremely unapologetically stoopid beats 20ish years ago. The Fred Falke remix of The Whitest Boy Alive's "Golden Cage" is still a first-round TKO. Also Justice is classic rock now (laudatory).
